 Self Portraits

From novice to master, nearly all artists have attempted a self-portrait at some point in their career.

This page illustrates the attempts that Carmel made of  his own representation of an artist that is drawn, painted, sculpted by the said person.  An early marble portrait is shown created at the age of twenty one.

Three decades of his life are shown, each offering a different interpretation of himself throughout, using alternative materials and techniques.

During his student period, he was also painted by his fellow compatriots of the time, being fellow artists, Tony Pace and Antoine Camilleri.
